Job Overview

The Solution Architect plays a key role in implementing the DycoTrade Commodity ERP Solution. This role focuses on designing and architecting solutions that meet the specific business needs of clients in commodity industries like coffee, grain, dairy, and metals. The Solution Architect provides guidance and support from pre-sales through the remainder of the project lifecycle. Therefore the Solution Architect collaborates closely with sales teams, clients, and project teams to ensure a successful solution design and implementation by using DycoTrade’s ‘Success by Design’ guidance. With their helicopter view Solution Architects can quickly understand the big picture and connect the dots. Consequently, they can educate key stakeholders on options regarding the solution direction and associated costs, benefits, and risks.

Commodities (like metals, grain, cacao, coffee, and milk products) are crucial for goods and products we consume daily. Our software makes an impact by making trade and logistics processes more efficient and managing potential risks in time. This helps our customers to trade, deliver, or receive commodities in a more efficient, predictable, and profitable way.

The CTRM (Commodity Trade and Risk Management) platform we have developed over the past 20 years is powered by the latest Microsoft technology. With DycoTrade’s added functionality for Microsoft’s business solutions (Microsoft Dynamics 365), commodity trading organizations, small to very large, have an unbeaten software backbone at hand.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Solution Design:
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and objectives.
    • Design and architect Commodity and ERP solutions that align with our client needs, using a combination of standard functionality, Power Platform, and lastly, if needed, customizations.
    • Consider system performance requirements during solution design.
    • Follow DycoTrade’s Succes by Design approach and templates and continuously improve these
    • Create and/or assist project team resources with detailed solution design documentation, including data models, system workflows, and integration plans.
  2. Leadership:
    • Provide leadership to the project teams, guiding them in implementing the designed solutions.
    • Ensure that the solution adheres to best practices and industry standards.
    • Provide leadership to the communities of practice around trade, logistics, and finance
  3. Solution Configuration and Development:
    • Assist project team resources with the set-up and customization of the Commodity ERP Solution to meet client requirements, customizing entities, forms, workflows, and business processes.
    • Advise project team resources on how to best manage and optimize data migrations, data transformations, and integrations.
  4. Integration:
    • Identify integration requirements and design interfaces with other systems, both within the client’s environment and external applications.
    • Considering any ISV’s and/or add-ons to meet specific business requirements.
  5. Stakeholder Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between project teams and clients, ensuring effective communication and managing client expectations throughout the project.
  6. Quality Assurance:
    • Provide leadership and contribute to various strategies: reporting strategy, test strategy, security strategy, and other functional-oriented strategies as defined in the project scope
  7. Best Practices and Knowledge Sharing:
    • Stay up to date with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dycotrade’s Commodity ERP Solution updates and best practices, incorporating new features and capabilities into the solution design.
    • Perform a lead role in the communities of practice by sharing best practices, knowledge, and experience with DycoTrade resources
  8. Documentation:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the solution blueprint, solution design, configuration, and any custom development.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Administration. A master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience as a Dynamics 365 ERP (or comparable ERP) Solution Architect or a similar role in ERP solution design.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP and its modules, customization capabilities, and integration options.
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect certification is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in ERP implementation methodologies and project management principles.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Trusted advisor for both customers and colleagues by sharing knowledge, experience, and best practices from other projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in commodity industries like coffee, grain, dairy, and metals is an asset.
