People Operations Officer/HR Generalist

Part-/Fulltime, 32-40 hours | Aalsmeer, the Netherlands

As a People Operations Officer, you will be the go-to person for both employees and managers for all HR-related matters. You will contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies that support our strategic goals, such as ensuring a smooth on- and offboarding, supporting in recruitment of new colleagues, and last but not least, being responsible for an accurate personnel administration.

With an open and approachable attitude, you foster trust—essential for creating a transparent work environment where employees feel heard and supported.

Commodities (like metals, grain, cacao, coffee, and milk products) are crucial for goods and products we consume daily. With constant disruptions in weather, climate, global security, and logistics routes, ensuring a stable supply of commodities can be challenging. Our software makes an impact by making trade and logistics processes more efficient and managing potential risks in time. This helps our customers to trade, deliver, or receive commodities in a more efficient, predictable, and profitable way.

The CTRM (Commodity Trade and Risk Management) platform we have developed over the past 20 years is powered by the latest Microsoft technology. With DycoTrade’s added functionality for Microsoft’s business solutions (Microsoft Dynamics 365), commodity trading organizations, small to very large, have an unbeaten software backbone at hand.

What do you bring?

Experience

  • 3 – 6 years experience in a similar generalist HR role
  • A thorough knowledge of Dutch labor laws and HR regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
  • Experience with HR systems, MS Office, and familiarity with social media (LinkedIn, Instagram).
  • Analytical skills to interpret HR data and develop strategies.
  • Empathy and strong interpersonal skills to support employees in their professional growth.

What will you be doing?

Here is a potential snapshot of what a day as a People Operations Officer might look like:

  • Always start with a fresh coffee or tea, then
  • Time to check our HR mail for questions to answer, candidates to respond to absenteeism and to follow up on, or whatever surprising subjects there may be in;
  • Meeting with the HR team, discussing outstanding cases, updating projects, and agreeing on how to get the latest learning in our academy spread into our organization;
  • Prepare the onboarding for our new hires;
  • Have a call with one of the hiring managers to discuss the status of the vacancy and candidates or the development of a team member;
  • Lunch!
  • Work on the optimization of our HR processes;
  • Have a 1:1 with a colleague about a personal subject;
  • Check if all salary mutations are administered;
