Bio’s:

Loes van Os

Loes graduated from Erasmus University in 2006 (Business Management) and from Nyenrode University in 2010 (Executive Master in Finance and Control). She started her career at Cargill in Amsterdam and held various finance roles in Cargill’s soy and soft seeds trading, production and port businesses. In 2012, she moved to Shanghai to be an FPA manager at Cargill and lead a reorganization of the finance organization. She then joined Alvean to be their VP of Finance for Asia, responsible for all finance matters related to sugar trading in Asia. After moving to Geneva, she started at SoyVen, taking care of all finance matters and took on a dual role as business lead and program manager for SoyVen’s companywide IT transformation, aimed at setting up a standalone and modern IT environment.

Peter Banat

Peter Banat currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Bay State Milling Company, a $700 Million privately held food ingredient business with manufacturing operations throughout the United States including three separate business units obtained through recent acquisitions. Peter started his career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where he spent ten years in a series of financial and operational roles in the US, Mexico and South America. He worked for several large multi-national, public companies including Pepsi International and The Limited before getting involved in Private Equity backed businesses. He has served as the Chief Financial Officer of Kaz Inc. (maker of the Vicks Vaporizer), Europro Corporation (Shark and Ninja brands) and Evenflo Company Inc. (baby products). Peter led highly successful turn arounds at both Europro and Evenflo and has extensive experience managing companies through challenging situations. Peter earned his BS in Economics at The University of Pennsylvania and MBA in Finance and International Business at The University of Michigan.

Gene Louie

Gene is Corporate Controller for Rahr Corporation (Barley Malting Production and Distribution). Gene did MBA at Carlson School of Management. He was a Finance/Accounting professional previously at Cargill (Grain Trading), Supervalu (Grocery Retail and Distribution), Grain Millers (Oat Milling). Gene is now an ERP implementation sponsor.

Michiel Mannaerts

Michiel is a Partner at PwC focusing on strategy, business processes and technology in the area of treasury and commodity management. Through his career, he has worked with many international corporates and commodity trading companies, leading transformation projects covering strategic, organizational, process and technological changes. In the trading space he has worked with clients in Energy, Agricultural products and Metals, as well as Commodity Trade Finance. He is also an expert in financial instruments accounting, internal controls and risk management on issues affecting treasury, physical and financial trading.
