Logistics & operations
Always on top of your warehouses, shipments, and logistics processes with DycoTrade Logistics
In a trading environment where transaction margins are constantly under pressure, focusing on logistics is essential. Many companies find opportunities for margin improvement by maintaining a firm control over their supply chains. Additionally, there is an increasing pressure on processes from a sustainability perspective, which includes a growing need for compliance and sustainability reporting.
Maintain command over all logistical movements, from origins to warehouses, between warehouses, or to customers. The DycoTrade Logistical module provides complete flexibility in tracking the details of physical transport.
Logistical architecture in DycoTrade
The DycoTrade Logistical module consists of a three-layer structure, visualized as a container on a vessel in a harbor:
- Logistic file: this links to physical contracts or inventory positions and serves as the input for further logistical movements.
- Transports: a Logistic file can have multiple transports, allowing you to register physical movements, apply costs and accruals, and perform weight-based adjustments.
- Transport units: this level is for detailed entry of information related to transport units like containers, trucks, or railcars. These units are tracked via seal numbers, pallet IDs, refrigeration levels, etc.
Batches or lots are allocated to specific containers, pallets, or trucks. This enables comprehensive history logging for tracking data alterations and movements.
Multi-Leg Transportation
It’s not uncommon for goods to be transferred from trucks to rail, from rail to sea, from sea to truck, and from truck to the final destination. To reach their final destination, each ‘leg’ has its own documents etc. When commodities like metals, grain, coffee, or dairy are being transported globally, you need an overview of all transport legs, so your logistics team is constantly updated.
Real-time transportation visibility
Imagine your coffee container is set to depart from South America to Europe in six weeks and faces a four-day delay due to local conditions. Real-time transportation visibility ensures that you are not left discovering the delay on the planned delivery day with a truck idly waiting at the dock. Instead, you are promptly informed of the initial delay, allowing you to reschedule subsequent activities such as transportation, warehousing, and repacking well in advance.
By integrating third-party solutions, DycoTrade enhances your supply chain with increased visibility and AI-powered automation. This leads to reducing costs, boosting revenue, and transforming your supply chains into a competitive advantage. Your logistics team maintains full control, even if the shipping company opts to reroute their vessels around Cape of Good Hope rather than through the Suez Canal.
